Do you do commercial new builds too?
Yes. The Conduction Company does commercial new build and fit-out electrical work as well as residential, including booking disruptive work outside a client's trading hours.
Do I buy the light fittings, or do you?
The Conduction Company normally supplies them. We have to certify the installation is electrically safe, and we can only stand behind brands and fittings we know. Trade pricing usually puts a standard fitting below retail, so supply and install often costs less than buying it yourself. A client-supplied item is not covered by our replacement warranty.
Can you rewire a house while we live in it?
Often yes, in stages. The Conduction Company works out a sequence that keeps power on to the parts of the house you are using, and tells you upfront which days will be disruptive.
When should the electrician be involved in a new build?
As early as the plans. The Conduction Company would rather be in the conversation before the framing goes up, because every cable is cheap while the walls are open and expensive afterwards.
Do you take on the whole renovation?
No. The Conduction Company is an electrical contractor and does the electrical scope. We are not builders and we do not project manage a renovation. We work alongside your builder and take responsibility for our part of the job.
