Our Services
Here's a look some of the most popular services our electricians provide in Auckland
Auckland electricians who understand Mt Eden homes
Older Mt Eden homes bring real electrical character. Many still have original or patched-up wiring, switchboards that have been added to over decades, and that old rubber or cloth cabling that gets brittle with age. Some have the green corrosion in the wiring that older Auckland homes are known for. None of this means a home is unsafe, but it does mean the work needs someone who understands heritage housing and respects it. We are careful in character homes: we keep things tidy, we work around the features that make these places special, and we never cut corners behind the walls where it counts most.
What we do for Mt Eden homes
Switchboard upgrades, careful rewires of older villas and bungalows, new power points and lighting that suit a character home, heat pump and ventilation wiring, EV charger installation, and electrical inspections with the Certificate of Compliance once the work is done. We also help with the dampness and condensation issues that older Mt Eden homes are prone to, through the right ventilation setup.
Specialists in older and character homes
Rewiring or upgrading a hundred-year-old villa is not the same job as wiring a new build, and it should not be treated like one. We plan the work to cause the least disruption, protect original features, and bring the electrics up to a safe modern standard without stripping the character out of your home. It is the kind of work where experience shows, and where the cheapest quote is rarely the one you want.
Registered, qualified, and accountable
The Conduction Company is a Master Electricians member, and our work is signed off by a registered electrician and electrical inspector. That dual registration means we can inspect and certify our own high-risk work, not just carry it out. For Mt Eden homeowners, and for anyone buying or selling a character home here, that is a clean, trustworthy paper trail and genuine peace of mind.
Don’t just take our word for it, we have a 5/5 rating on Google
and a 99.8% approval rating on NoCowboys
fantastic service! They helped me out in an emergency last year and so i rang them when i needed work done in my new place. Got everything done on time and at a reasonable price. i shall definately use them again
The electrician was very professional and reliable. We installed timer for hot water cylinder. The price was reasonable with longer period of warranty while the other company only provided 1 year. Would recommend to everyone!
Jordan and team recently did the re-wiring of our house, I’m very pleased with the quality of the work. I would give them a six star if I could! Highly recommend.
Prompt and friendly communication from quoting to completing the work. Storm damaged aerial replaced and working well. Thank you!
So these guys are GREAT. Everyone was helpful, responsive and professional. The job was sorted super quick and my boisterous doggo was given plenty of attention too. Totally recommend them and thanks everyone for being so lovely to deal with.
This is the 3rd time we have used this local company & would recommend them . Definitely our 'go to' for any electrical work required.
We could not fault this company. Full communication throughout, arrived on time, did the job in a less time than expected, a nice touch being presented with a "thank you" gift before leaving. The men were super friendly. Would definitely recommend !
The team did a great job as usual - on time and done for the same price quoted. Great communication, tidied up afterwards, happy to answer any questions we had. Highly recommend.
Have had a heated towel rail and a tv mount install done, both times the guys were great at communicating at every step and reasonably priced. Will definitely use TCC again!
100% recommend this company. Their professionalism, communication, and competence are outstanding. So good to have trades that you can trust to do a fantastic job.

Common questions from Mt Eden homeowners, especially those in older and character homes. If yours isn't here, just ask. For a sense of typical costs, see our Auckland electrician pricing guide.
We quote on facts, not guesses
Before we give you a price, we carry out a proper assessment of your property and the electrical work you need. That way you know exactly what you're buying and the total cost, with no surprises. Clear expectations from the outset, start to finish.
Any figures shown are estimates for standard work. The Conduction Company confirms final pricing after a property assessment.
How much does an electrician cost in Mt Eden?
Most Auckland electricians charge $90 to $140 an hour including GST ($80 to $120 plus GST). The Conduction Company works to a fixed price instead, agreed before the job starts, so an hourly rate is not what you end up paying. That matters in Mt Eden, where a lot of the housing stock is old enough that the wiring behind the walls decides the job. Those hourly figures are the Auckland market rate, an estimate rather than a quote. The Conduction Company confirms final pricing after a property assessment.
My Mt Eden home has an old switchboard. Is it a problem?
It can be. Older switchboards with ceramic fuses often lack the protection modern homes have, and many have no spare capacity for new circuits. We assess yours, tell you honestly whether it needs upgrading, and explain what an upgrade would involve and cost before you commit to anything.
Do you rewire older villas and character homes in Mt Eden?
Yes, it's one of the things we do most around here. Mt Eden is full of villas and bungalows with ageing wiring. We rewire them carefully, protect the original features, and bring the electrics up to a safe modern standard. We'll always tell you whether you need a full rewire or just targeted work.
