The brief
Crafty Baker needed the full electrical fit-out for a new bakery store in Oratia, West Auckland. The kitchen equipment list was still being decided as the build went on, so the wiring had to keep pace with a plan that kept moving. The Conduction Company worked the job in monthly stages alongside Crafty Baker's project manager, the builders, and the other trades.
What we did
The Conduction Company pre-wired the store in June 2025, through the open timber frame and under the high raking ceiling. That covered the lighting circuits, the kitchen lighting, the power loops, and 3-phase wiring for the dishwasher and range hood. The team ran sub-mains to a kitchen counter switchboard and fitted off a separate back-bar switchboard.
For the lighting, The Conduction Company installed 3 track lighting systems, two 6 metre tracks and one 8 metre track, carrying 32 track light heads. The team hung 8 pendant lights, 5 Otto and 3 Koni, and fitted 9 LED panel lights (600 x 600) in the kitchen and back-of-house.
The Conduction Company ran 6 data runs and 5 CCTV camera cable runs to a data rack, using about 287 metres of Cat6, and fitted a 6RU data cabinet with a 24-port Cat6 patch panel. The team also installed an intruder alarm kit with a PIR (motion) sensor.
In the kitchen, The Conduction Company bonded the stainless steel benches to earth and fitted a gas emergency stop, three-phase isolators, two three-phase isolating plugs for kitchen equipment, and an oven isolator. The team cabled the fresh air fan, range hood and solenoid, and tested and confirmed them working on 11 December. It also connected the rooftop extraction fan, and fitted 3 hand dryers, an outdoor outlet for the water heater, and a provision for garden lighting.
