The project in numbers

  • 2 site days in March 2026, TCCO schedules
  • 20.5 scheduled crew hours, TCCO job records
  • 3 TCCO team members on the job, TCCO schedules
  • 130 m of 6 mm² cable, TCCO materials records
  • 2 dedicated 32 A circuits, one per unit, TCCO technician records
  • 0.17 ohms earth fault loop impedance on each circuit, TCCO test record

The brief

An open-plan warehouse tenancy in Eden Terrace needed air conditioning. That meant two units, each needing its own power supply from the tenancy switchboard, up through the roof cavity to an isolator on the roof.

What we did

The Conduction Company ran the project and did the electrical work. A specialist air conditioning subcontractor installed the two Daikin ceiling-suspended units.

The Conduction Company ran two 6 mm² supplies from the tenancy switchboard through the roof cavity, each to its own rooftop isolator. At the switchboard, the team fitted a two-pole enclosure and two 32 A breakers, labelled AC 1 and AC 2. One unit runs from one phase and the other from a different phase, to spread the load. The job used 130 metres of 6 mm² cable and 25 metres of flexible conduit.

Products installed

Two Daikin ceiling-suspended units (installed by a specialist subcontractor), Voltex breakers

Compliance record

Electrical work certified by The Conduction Company (Certificate of Compliance and Electrical Safety Certificate). Air conditioning units installed by a specialist subcontractor.

The outcome

The Conduction Company tested both circuits on completion on 11 March 2026: 242 volts at the board, and on each 32 A circuit an earth fault loop impedance of 0.17 ohms and a prospective fault current of 1.7 kA. In plain words, if a fault ever happens, enough current will flow to trip the breaker within the set time, and 1.7 kA (1,700 amps) is how much current would flow in that fault.
