Top5.nz, a New Zealand site that ranks local businesses, puts The Conduction Company at number one on three lists: electricians in Auckland, solar installers in Auckland, and solar installers across New Zealand. Top5.nz scores businesses on their public Google reviews and says no business can pay for a place.
What Top5.nz ranked
The Conduction Company read all three Top5.nz lists on 15 October 2026. This is what each one showed.
Best Electricians in Auckland: The Conduction Company is number one of the 20 Auckland electricians Top5.nz assessed. Page last updated 25 September 2026.
Best Solar Installers in Auckland: number one of 48. Last updated 9 October 2026.
Best Solar Installers in New Zealand: number one of 187. Last updated 13 October 2026.
The national solar ranking is the new one. At the end of September, Top5.nz had The Conduction Company second of 148. Its 13 October update moved it to first.
If you are weighing up solar for your home, The Conduction Company's solar panel and battery installation service is the place to start.
How Top5.nz ranks electricians and solar installers
Top5.nz says it ranks "on public rating quality, review volume and how recent the reviews are". Its method page breaks that into six signals. The Google star rating counts most. Review volume counts strongly, with diminishing returns. Steady recent reviews earn a little more. A high share of one-star reviews costs points. Free identity verification adds 3 points.
Top5.nz states that "No business can pay for a place in these rankings", and lists advertising, payments and manual editorial picks under "What never counts".
The Conduction Company has verified its Top5.nz listing, so its scores include those 3 points. Its lead over second place was bigger than that on every list: 12 points among Auckland electricians, 16 among Auckland solar installers, and 5 across New Zealand. The verification bonus did not decide any of the three.
What a ranking like this does not measure
A Top5.nz score is a summary of what clients have written on Google. Top5.nz's published method does not inspect anyone's work, compare prices, or check whether an electrician is registered. So The Conduction Company treats any ranking as one signal among several.
How to use a ranking when you choose an electrician
The Conduction Company's advice is to use a ranking to build a shortlist, then check four things.
Registration. The Electrical Workers Registration Board tells people to ask an electrical worker for their licence and check the public register before they hire.
The guarantee. Ask what the electrician guarantees, and for how long. The Conduction Company backs its workmanship with a Lifetime Workmanship Guarantee.
Recent reviews. Read the newest reviews, not only the star average, and look at how the business replied to any poor ones. You can read what The Conduction Company's clients say in their reviews.
The price. Ask whether the quote is fixed. Every quote from The Conduction Company is one fixed price, GST included, with the callout, the travel and the electrical certificate your job needs already inside it. If the job grows on site, the client signs the change before the extra work starts. That is The Conduction Company's fixed-price promise.
The same advice sits behind The Conduction Company's answer to who is the best electrician in Auckland: it depends on the job.
What Jordan Statham says
Jordan Statham is the owner and director of The Conduction Company, and a registered electrician and electrical inspector.
"Being ranked first for solar across New Zealand means a lot to the team. Solar is a big decision for a household, and the reviews behind this ranking come from people who trusted us with it."
In short
As read on 15 October 2026, Top5.nz ranks The Conduction Company number one for electricians in Auckland, and for solar installers in Auckland and across New Zealand. Top5.nz builds them from public Google reviews. A ranking is a fair way to start a shortlist. Registration, the guarantee, recent reviews and a fixed quote are what to check next.
